What is Alzheimer’s care at St. Ann’s?

Each person’s experience with Alzheimer’s is different. At St. Ann’s we serve those facing memory loss or other cognitive impairment on a highly personalized basis. We focus on understanding the disease process, knowing our residents, and designing programs that meet their individual needs.

Who would benefit?

A person living with Alzheimer’s may eventually need more care than can be provided at home. As the disease progresses, round-the-clock attention keeps loved ones safe. Here are some things to consider:

  • Is the person with Alzheimer’s unsafe in their current home?
  • Is the health of the person with Alzheimer’s or my health as a caregiver at risk?
  • Are the person’s care needs beyond my physical abilities?
  • Am I becoming a stressed, irritable, and impatient caregiver?
  • Am I neglecting work responsibilities, my family, and myself?
  • Would the structure and social interaction at a care facility benefit the person with Alzheimer’s?

"Very pleased with how the St. Ann's staff treats my mom. She is 96 so I’m sure it’s not always easy. But they always treat her with respect and understanding. That’s what I appreciate the most. Her dignity.”
