At St. Ann’s, we recognize that each person’s experience with memory loss is different, which is why we serve elders facing memory loss or other cognitive impairment on a highly personalized basis.
We are a knowledgeable provider of Alzheimer’s and dementia services. Our focus is centered on understanding the disease process, knowing our residents, and designing programs that meet their individual needs. We also work with the families of residents to help them understand the changes caused by Alzheimer’s and to make any life adjustments that are necessary.
Assisted Living for Alzheimer’s residents is provided in Joseph’s Haven, a ten-bed, secure Alzheimer’s care unit with one level of care. Clinical leadership is provided by a licensed nurse, 24 hours per day. The Joseph’s Haven team of certified nursing assistants is specially-trained and certified in dementia care and supported by a team of highly-trained medication technologists. Joseph’s Haven was designed and built to provide comfort and safety for residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia and includes a kitchen, dining room, living room and courtyard. Joseph’s Haven residents also enjoy a wide range of both stimulating and enjoyable activities led by Life Enrichment staff members and volunteers.
Nursing Care for Alzheimer’s residents is provided in Elizabeth’s Place which is a self-contained, ten-bed nursing Alzheimer’s care unit. The entire unit is dually-certified to provide Long Term Care and Skilled Nursing Care Staff teams include a licensed nurse and certified nursing assistants on-site 24 hours a day who are always ready to meet the nursing care needs of every resident. This expertise is complimented by other, onsite medical services that include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and onsite physician and laboratory visits.
